The HVAC Sizing Summary Report contains five tables:

1. Plant Equipment

2. Cooling Coils

3. DX Coils

4. Heating Coils

5. Fans

Quick Review Questions

• Is all the correct Plant Equipment included?  Are the capacity and efficiency correct?
• Are all the correct thermal zone and cooling coil combinations listed?
• Do the cooling coil capacities seem correct for Total, Sensible and Latent?  Do any jump out?
• Which DX Cooling Coils have the higher Standard Rating?
• Are certain DX Coiling Coils SEER and EER results outside the cluster of the rest of the set?
• Are the right types of heating coils displayed and match the thermal zones correctly?
• Which heating coils have the highest Nominal Total Capacity and do they differ from the others significantly?
• Are the right fan types displayed?
• Which fans have the highest Max Flow Rate and Rated Power?

Plant Equipment

The table identifies the Plant Equipment included in the simulation, the type of equipment, the nominal capacity and the nominal efficiency

Cooling Coils

The table contains the thermal zone the DX cooling coils are associated with, the type of cooling coil and the following capacity and efficiency characteristics:

• Nominal Total Capacity
• Nominal Sensible Capacity
• Nominal Latent Capacity
• Nominal Sensible Heat Ratio
• Nominal Efficiency

DX Coils

The table contains the thermal zone the cooling coils are associated with, the type of DX cooling coil and the following characteristics:

• Standard Rating (Net Cooling Capacity)
• Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) [W/W] - the cooling output during a typical cooling-season divided by the total electric energy input during the same period
• Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) [Btu/W-h] - the cooling output during a typical cooling-season divided by the total electric energy input during the same period
• Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) [W/W]
• Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) [Btu/W-h]
• Integrated Energy Efficiency Ratio (IEER) [W/W]
• Integrated Energy Efficiency Ratio (IEER) [Btu/W-h]

Heating Coils

The table contains the thermal zone the heating coils are associated with, the type of heating coil and the following characteristics:

• Nominal Total Capacity

• Nominal Sensible Capacity

DX Heating Coils

Fans

The table contains the thermal zone the fans are associated with, the equipment type, the type of fan and the following characteristics:

• Total Efficiency [dimensionless]
• Delta Pressure [in.wg]
• Max Flow Rate [ft3]
• Rated Power [kW]
• Motor Heat in Air Fraction
• End Use
