Property Values Table

Location = ALL Template Workspaces and ALL Library Workspaces

The Libraries and Template Workspaces are for the majority of cases have a similar set up.  On the right side of the workspace is a property values table that once a library entry or an object, type and sub type combination have been selected they can interact with.

The example shown is the Property Values Table for a Simulation Parameters Template, however the way the user interacts with this table is consistent for all the tables across the Template Type and Libraries Type workspaces.

When a user first views the Property Values Table when a template or library entry has yet to be selected it will typically appear in a "compressed state" with only the Property Categories being shown.

To view the Properties the user needs to select the check box next to the Property Category.  Once the check box is selected the properties related to the Property Category are displayed as shown in the image above.  In addition the properties are now "active" and each property now has a drop down list available for selection.  For Template Property Value Tables the source for the drop down lists are the library entries for different library categories.  For each property in the Libraries Property Value Tables the user will either have the option to enter a value directly (where applicable and relevant units will appear in the last column) or they will be presented with drop down lists that are either the available selections for EnergyPlus or library entries that have been setup or are available for other Libraries Types.

For easier viewing of different property categories in the space allotted the user can select the (-) to compress the Property Category.  Once this has been done the (-) turns to a (+) and if the user selects it the Property Category will once again be expanded.

Note: The Property Category remains active (selected) even when compressed.

Tip:  The Properties displayed in bold are ones the require values for the EnergyPlus simulation to run.  If users are familiar with the IDF Editor that comes with EnergyPlus, it is the same format.
