Workspace: Design Alternatives à Design Alternatives à Create/Edit
This example goes through the steps with Design Alternatives within Simergy. It allows user to do comparative analysis from early stages through detailed design and into operations. There is no limit to the number of design alternatives that can be incorporated into a Simergy file, but note that there is a practical limit based on the file size and the workability of the file.

In the Design Alternatives tab, in the Select Design Alternatives area, select Copy |

Double click on the first column to make the Design Alternative 1 as active project |

In the Buildings tab, in the Active Project Model dialog, expand the Buildings Stories tree, and double click on Story: Building Story-1 |

In the Create/Edit Building Stories area, select the Glazing tab |

In the Array One section, change the following values: · North: o Win/Wall Ratio: 45% · South: o Win/Wall Ratio: 60% · East and West: o Win/Wall Ratio: 40% o Window Width: 8.00 ft o Window Minimum Gap: 1.00 ft o Checked: O’hang |

Click Save in the Create/Edit Building Stories dialog |

In the Buildings tab, in the Active Project Model dialog, expand the Buildings Stories tree, and double click on Story: Building Story-2, hold down CTRL on keyboard and select Building Story-3, and Building Story-4 |

Go to Design Alternatives tab |

Double click on the first column to switch back and forth to see the design alternatives.
Repeat the steps to create different glazing options for analysis. |
